Organization Description

The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) is a private, non-profit oceanographic research facility near Moss Landing, California. MBARI was formed in 1987 by David Packard and is principally supported by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Christopher Scholin is the institute’s president and chief executive officer, overseeing a workforce of around 220 scientists, engineers, operations, and administrative personnel.
