Organization Description

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations agency responsible for information and communication technologies (ICTs). founded in 1865 to facilitate international connectivity in communications networks. We allocate global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develop technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and work to improve access to ICTs for underserved communities around the world. Every time you make a mobile phone call, visit the Internet, or send an email, you are benefiting from the efforts of the ITU.

ITU is dedicated to connecting all people on the planet, regardless of where they reside or how much money they have. Our work protects and promotes everyone’s right to communicate.
