Organization Description

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a UN agency that combats poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. It is the only multilateral organization dedicated to rural economies and food security.

IFAD supports over 200 projects in nearly 100 countries, funding initiatives that improve land and water management, rural infrastructure, farmer education, climate resilience, and market accessibility.

Since its inception, IFAD, which has 180 member states, has provided $23.2 billion in loans and grants and coordinated an additional $31 billion in co-financing.
