Organization Description

The American Psychological Foundation was founded in 1953 by six psychologists with a $580 budget. Joseph McVicker Hunt, one of the APF’s founders, went on to become the organization’s first president. Dorothy Cantor, who oversaw the launch of two major fundraising campaigns, the Campaign for a New Era in 2000 and the Campaign to Transform the Future in 2012, is another past president of the foundation.
