Opportunity Description

Young Associate Program (YAP) 2023-25 applications at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is now open to international candidates. The YAP is a two years exciting program offering professional experience at the cutting edge of public policy development and analysis. The program intends to expose fresh undergraduates to many research and analytical work on major policy areas.

The YAP’s primary goal is to prepare excellent undergraduates for future postgraduate studies. So, successful candidates should clearly express how they are motivated to use their experience at the OECD to pursue a Master’s degree or Ph.D. after completing the YAP.

The YAP’s main component is professional mentorship during their two-year work at the OECD. The managers of the Young Associates will closely mentor them during their working days.

Benefits of the Young Associate Program

The Young Associate Program (YAP) at the OECD will cover the following expenses:

  • Approximately 3,900 EUR monthly salary exempt from French income tax;
  • Approximately 19,000 EUR leaving allowance based on a 24-month assignment;
  • Comprehensive medical insurance;
  • Home leave and expatriation allowance;
  • Installation allowance, which is equal to one month’s salary for single candidates;
  • Airline tickets to Paris and back to applicants’ home country;
  • Removal expenses compensation.

Requirements of the Young Associate Program

Below is the set of eligibility criteria or requirements that all applicants should meet to apply for the Young Associate Program:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent between January 2022 and September 2023 in a relevant academic field to the position(s);
  • Applicants who already hold or have enrolled in a Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent degree are not eligible to apply;
  • Hold a nationality of an OECD Member country; other country nationals are not eligible;
  • Prove overall academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale (please see the GPA conversion tool);
  • Be able to work in a team constructively;
  • Be fluent in English or French
  • Commit to reaching a good working command of the following language after joining the OECD;
  • Ability to work as a Young Associate in the area of work and have the motivation to pursue a graduate degree in a relevant field after YAP completion

Furthermore, it is an asset if candidates:

  • Have done written reports, thesis, or research related to the work area;
  • Have work or extracurricular experience relevant to the position;
  • Demonstrate the required skills and competencies
