New York University NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute is accepting applications for the 2024 Global Journalist Fellowship. This fellowship provides funding for three semesters of study at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute’s master’s programs for journalists. This fellowship supports international journalists enrolled in one of NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute’s graduate journalism programs.

Note:The fellowship duration for all Programs are 3 semesters except Global and Joint Program Studies and Literary Reportage which are 4 semesters
Benefits of Global Journalist Fellowship
The 2024 Fellowship covers tuition and registration costs for two of the program’s three or four semesters. Additionally, the fellow will receive a stipend of $16,000 for each of the fellowship’s two semesters.
Eligibility Criteria
Fellows should fullfil these criteria:
- Must hold a passport from a country other than the United States
- Be fluent in English and at least one other language at the moment
- Be a journalist or a journalist for a non-profit news organization (corporate or institutional communications does not qualify).
- By the first day of the program, you must have a minimum of four years of experience working in a print or electronic journalistic publication.
- Fulfill applications for both the fellowship and for admission to the M.A. program in Journalism
- Work for student publications and internships do not count toward the four-year requirement.
- Experience in public relations and business communications is not acceptable.
- A four-year bachelor’s degree or a three-year bachelor’s degree + one year of graduate work
- GRE exam is not required
- English Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL is required. The TOEFL is exempted only if English was an applicant’s language of instruction in his or her degree program
