University of the People (UoPeople) offers 1,000 scholarships for Afghan women to continue a bachelor’s degree for free Online.
The University of People supports the educational futures of Afghan women threatened by the Taliban’s takeover of their country.
About the University of People
University of People was founded with the slogan that education is a fundamental right for all. UoPeople is a non-profit tuition-free, American-accredited online University established to provide affordable and accessible higher education opportunities to high school graduates and offers a number of high-demand bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Currently, there are more than 75,000 students from over 200 countries and territories in the UoPeople.
As a non-profit institution, the University does not charge any tuition and enrollment fees and all its course materials are available online for free. Though the University sets a small one-time application fee ($120 for each undergraduate course and $240 for its graduate-level courses), these costs will be waived for the Afghan women awarded the scholarships.

Admission Requirements for students
To apply, you need to complete a short online application form. In the UoPeople Admissions Application, you must provide:
- The Basic information, including your name, address, and date of birth.
- Education history information (high school or bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- English proficiency
Afghan applicants do not need to apply saperately for Scholarship. they can apply for the scholarships by submitting their application online and can contact their Admissions Advisor or the Office of Admissions directly ([email protected]) with a request for more information.
Note: as it is already stated above, students who can not pay the 60 USD application fee, can contact the university to waive the application fee.
English proficiency is one of the primary requirements to become a student at UoPeople. Those who have graduated from a school where English is not the primary language must upload documents that show their ability in English. (If transcripts are not in English, you need to upload a translated version).
Additionally, if the applicant’s English documentation does not suffice to pass the English requirement, the person should take UoPeople’s English course to develop her English reading and writing skills further.
