Opportunity Description

Applications are open for the 2024 UNAOC Intercultural Innovation Hub. Collaborating with the BMW Group and supported by Accenture, the Intercultural Innovation Hub (IIH) of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNOAC) catalyzes intercultural dialogue, empowers grassroots organizations, and promotes social inclusion worldwide. Through this initiative, innovative projects addressing various social challenges are selected to amplify their impact and ensure sustainable growth.

Through the Intercultural Innovation Hub, UNAOC, BMW Group, and Accenture aim to foster a more inclusive and interconnected global community by empowering grassroots organizations and promoting innovative solutions to pressing social challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Intercultural Innovation Hub, organizations must meet the following criteria:

  • Applications are open for the registered not-for-profit organization
  • Be operational for a minimum of 2 years before March 2024
  • Managing a project attentive on promoting intercultural dialogue and fostering diverse and inclusive societies
  • Willingness to expand the project’s range of action with UNAOC, the BMW Group, and Accenture
  • Organizations that have previously received UNAOC support are not eligible to apply
  • Projects that were not selected in previous editions are encouraged to reapply

Selection Criteria

The evaluation of Intercultural Innovation Recipients is based on three main categories:

The Project:

  • Relevance: Appropriate for the targeted audience and local context, addressing COVID-19 challenges and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Quality: Conducts in-depth analysis and establishes consistent intervention strategy.
  • Clarity: Clearly defines objectives and establishes logical connections between activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Innovation: Demonstrates original and novel methods, surpassing conventional approaches.
  • Measurability: Impact is quantifiable through various metrics.
  • Sustainability: Exhibits potential for long-term viability
  • Replicability: Can be replicated and scaled up in diverse settings.

The Organization:

  • Organizational Structure: Capable of achieving project goals.
  • Intercultural Commitment: Demonstrates interest in fostering diversity and inclusivity.
  • Work Plan and Budget: Realistic budget for project replication or expansion.
  • Transparency: Demonstrates genuine efforts towards transparency.
  • Equality: Reflects equality and diversity policies in staff, membership, and activities.

  • Clarity: Effectively communicates ideas with relevant examples.
  • Conciseness: Provides clear and concise responses.
  • Persuasiveness: Includes insightful arguments and engaging narrative.
