Opportunity Description
One of the main activities of the UN SDG Action Campaign, the UN SDG Action Awards, recognizes and honors dedicated people and projects that are using innovation and creativity to move the world toward sustainability, equity, and peace.
Even in the most difficult situations and locations, anyone can organize action and make a difference. The campaign aims to convey a message of hope and limitless potential while portraying heroes making a difference in the world.
Prior to the Ceremony, all of the finalists—three for each award category—are invited to a one-day induction program that includes networking opportunities, skill-building exercises, and creative workshops. With music, artwork, and motivational speeches from world-renowned leaders, the UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony presents and honors the winners.
Rome, Italy will host the 2024 Induction Program and Awards Ceremony towards the end of October. 1: Creativity Awards: They are searching for exceptional campaigns that have inspired SDG action via the power of creativity. These efforts have had a demonstrable impact on public opinion, individual behavior, and policy and funding allocations, ultimately leading to more sustainable, just, and peaceful societies—the SDGs’ goal. They have effectively used any creative medium—music, painting, poetry, digital and multimedia, theater, film, dance, street art, and so on—to further the objectives and/or advance human rights.
2: Impact Awards: They are searching for exceptional projects that have made a major, quantifiable difference in people’s lives and accelerated the accomplishment of the SDGs by using creative methods to address pressing issues. Impact refers to notable advancements in behavior, empowerment, inclusion, knowledge, skills, health, and/or living situations. Numerous variables, such as those related to the economy, society, institutions, environment, and/or technology, can be used to gauge impact.
3: Changemaker Awards: They are searching for extraordinary people who have had a positive impact on their cultures and communities. In addition to being the people who quietly labor behind the scenes to change things, they are also the ones that make a big impact. A changemaker acts and works with others to bring about the new world they have imagined. A changemaker drives initiatives to rewire our world and illuminate the SDGs while advocating for justice, equality, and human rights. Changemakers are found by self-nominations or nominations from others.
