UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest applications are now being accepted. Imagine a day in the future where food and water are available to everybody. What immediately springs to mind? By acting appropriately, you may contribute to building a sustainable future.
To showcase your artistic abilities, create a poster for World Food Day that represents your water action for food. Complete the online form, scan or take a picture of your entry, and submit it. In December, the three winners in each age category, as selected by our judges, will be announced online. In addition, the victors will receive a diploma, an unexpected gift package, and a promotion from FAO offices worldwide.
About the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO):
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to end hunger, promote nutrition, and ensure food security. Fiat panis, the Latin motto, translates as “let there be bread.” It was established on October 16, 1945.

Benefits of UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest:
- The screening committee will choose 15 posters in each category, for a total of 60 posters, and notify the selected posters in December 2025. A certificate will be awarded to the shortlisted individuals for this accomplishment.
- A panel of judges will choose three of the best poster designs from each category as finalists.
- On the World Food Day website, the best three poster designs across all categories will be revealed.
- The winners will be highlighted by FAO offices worldwide and on social media.
- A surprise gift bag and a Certificate of Recognition will also be given to the winners.
- The prize will be forfeited, and FAO will have the sole discretion to decide whether to award it to another eligible entry if any of the chosen winner(s) of any prize are ineligible under these Contest rules and/or the General Rules, Copyright and Privacy, cannot be located, or refuse the prize.
- Only the first initial, the whole family name, and the nation of origin will be published with the winning posters. There won’t be any more publications or sharing of the contestants’ private information.
Eligibilities for UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest:
Applicants must have the following:
- Children and teens residing anywhere in the world between the ages of 5 and 19 are eligible to enter the contest.
- The age that must be stated on the entry form is the age that you are when you enter the contest. To participate in the Contest, minors must obtain their parents’ or guardians’ consent.
Entry Requirements:
- It is free to participate.
- The admission period is scheduled to start on July 1, 2025, at noon (CEST), and end on November 7, 2025, at noon (CEST).
- The competition is divided into the following categories: 5-8, 9-12, 13-15, and 16-19.
- Each person is allowed to submit only one entry. If a person enters more than once, they will be disqualified.
- Poster submissions may be created using mixed media, oil, acrylic, or watercolor paint, or with pens, pencils, crayons, or charcoal.
- Artwork produced digitally is also allowed. Photos are not permitted.
- Text may or may not be included in poster entries. If text is utilized, it can consist of no more than 25 words or 100 characters. Don’t provide any private information about yourself, such as your name, age, or school name.
- All artwork needs to be unique and can’t contain any copyrighted logos, photos, or other private information.
- It is recommended that all participants read the World Food Day Activity Book to learn more about the day’s subject. Younger kids might prefer to study with an instructor or parent.
- Posters may only be submitted via the attached entry form. After uploading the poster design and completing all the fields in the contest submission form, you must press the ENTER button. Younger children may need adult assistance to submit their work online.
- Please do not send in actual posters; only digital files saved as JPEGs will be allowed, and entries must be submitted using the linked online form.
