The THRIVE Global Impact Challenge 2025 gives the participants an opportunity to bring innovation to the forefront of food and agriculture systems.

This global challenge is calling on trailblazing startups and early-stage innovators to submit solutions that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and address six critical themes in the agrifood industry:

• Clean Energy and Climate Tech
• Water and Waste Management
• Post-Harvest and FoodTech

Finalists will pitch to an elite audience of investors, corporate leaders, and policymakers at the THRIVE Global Impact Summit, held in Silicon Valley on October 29–30, 2025. The program is a launchpad for meaningful change, global visibility, and up to $1 million in investment from SVG Ventures.

Global Impact Challenge Themes

The THRIVE Global Impact Challenge is seeking innovative startups focused on transforming agrifood systems through groundbreaking solutions. This year, we are focusing on six key themes:

• Regenerative Agriculture: Solutions promoting sustainable farming practices, soil health, and ecosystem restoration.
• Artificial Intelligence and Automation: AI-powered farm management, robotics, crop health diagnostics, and supply chain optimization
• Animal Health and Nutrition: Innovations in precision nutrition, disease prevention, sustainability in livestock systems, and animal welfare.
• Clean Energy and Climate Tech: Renewable energy, carbon capture, and energy efficiency in agriculture.
• Water and Waste Management: Water conservation, waste reduction, nutrient runoff control, and organic waste conversion.
• Post-Harvest and FoodTech: Novel ingredients, plant-based meats, sustainable packaging, and AI-driven processing technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge are as follows:

• Applicants should be early-stage startups or entrepreneurs at the seed to Series A stage with scalable ideas.
• The application is open to applicants from any country or region, encouraging diverse perspectives and global collaboration.
• Solutions must align with one or more of the summit themes, addressing key challenges with innovative approaches.
• Applicants should showcase tangible outcomes or successful implementation of solutions positively influencing sustainability, carbon reduction, biodiversity, or other environmental aspects.

Selection Process

The selection process is as follows:

• Initial application review (June 2025)
• Shortlisted startups pitch during Virtual Pitch Day (July 2025)
• Finalists selected based on scalability, innovation, and theme alignment (Aug–Sep 2025)
• Finalists will pitch live at the Summit in October
• The winner receives investment and the THRIVE Award
