Eligibility Criteria
The following are the application requirements for the Marŝarto Awards:
- Submission is open to artists from any nationality.
- The artists must have created their pieces in 2023 and 2024 to be eligible for the award.
- Any walking piece except sound walks is acceptable
- There is no limitation on the number of submissions
- Entrants must declare that their work is original and that they hold all necessary rights to the submitted work.
- The application is open to various disciplines, including the arts, heritage, health, social practices, journalism, literature, ecology, and tourism.
- Jury members can submit but not vote for their work.
- Grand Jury members’ works can be shortlisted without winning or receiving honorable mentions.
- Grand Jury members involved with shortlisted works must excuse themselves from voting.

- Declaration: Entrants must declare that they own the rights to the work and that they have not infringed any third-party rights.
Selection Process and Criteria
Below, we have highlighted the main selection process and criteria:
- The online Jury is responsible for the initial review and shortlisting of submitted works.
- The piece with the most likes not already shortlisted will be included.
- Final selection of winners based on defined criteria is the responsibility of the Grand Jury.
- The announcement of winners will occur shortly after the end of October.
Criteria:
- Walking: Integral to the work, experienced as a walk, giving the work its meaning.
- Research and Context: Stemming from research contributing to walking art, demonstrating field awareness.
- Contribution to Walking Art: Advances discourse, practices, and concepts and evokes emotional responses or reflections.
- Production Quality: Professional and well-designed work.
