Do you run a local group as a young woman peacebuilder or human rights defender? Are you striving to promote and preserve peace in your community, give humanitarian aid, avoid conflicts, or advocate for human rights and equality? If you answered YES, don’t miss this opportunity!
The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women (UN Women), in collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is launching the pilot initiative Strengthening Young Women Peacebuilders’ Capacity in Complex Crises, a program that aims to support young women leaders of civil society organizations in fragile and/or conflict-affected countries.
Program Objectives
This initiative aims to develop the fundraising abilities of young women-led organizations while also creating a forum for peer exchange, networking, exchanging best practices, and lessons learned among young women peacebuilders.

You will learn the following over the four-day in-person workshop:
- Key policy topics include peacebuilding and peacekeeping, women, peace and security (WPS), youth, peace, and security (YPS).
- Project management skills: designing and preparing project proposals (including conflict analysis, theory of change, and logical frameworks), fundraising, donor outreach, and reporting.
Who Can Apply?
An ideal applicant should meet the following requirements:
- Be a young woman between the ages of 18 and 30. Individuals who identify as LGBTIQ+ are welcome to apply.
- Applicant should not have received the United Nations funding yet.
- Have a firm understanding of one of the following languages: English, French, or Spanish.
- Be a founding or significant member of a legally recognized civil society group that works on peacebuilding, human rights, women’s rights, youth rights, or anything similar.
- Applicant should be a citizen or be living in one of the UN women’s countries.

Selection Procedure
A total of 25 young women will be chosen by a global and sub-regional review committee using common review criteria to assess the applicant’s motivation and potential for successful project implementation. Successful applicants will be notified and invited to attend the workshop.
