Opportunity Description
The Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) has announced the start of the second phase of its Fellowship Program in May 2023. SSHAP, which is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Wellcome Trust, is seeking for future leaders in social science who can apply their expertise to humanitarian catastrophes in a locally relevant way.
The main goal of SSHAP is to promote emergency solutions that are efficient, adaptable, contextually aware, and supported by evidence from several disciplines and social sciences. The Fellows are essential to achieving the mission of SSHAP. To support and promote interdisciplinary cooperation and information sharing during the course of the Fellowship, the program will connect social scientists with practitioners in the same area.

- Aid in creating an operational briefing that will be distributed and promoted through SSHAP channels.
Eligibility
They encourage applications from knowledgeable and dedicated social scientists and practitioners to take advantage of this opportunity and add to the expanding network.
For the Fellowship to be available to you, you must:
- Being a citizen of, and presently residing in, a low- or middle-income countries.
- You should either be a social scientist with research expertise or a public health or humanitarian response professional who can have an impact on how humanitarian activities are designed and/or implemented.

- A brief statement describing why you want to attend the SSHAP fellowship, what you would gain from it, and what you would provide to it. (Please limit your response to 500 words).
- Explain how this fellowship will benefit you in your current/future role in your organization/career. If you work for an institution or organization, please explain how the fellowship’s learning will assist the teams you work with (max 250 words please).
- Name, title, and association of your referee; connection to your referee (e.g. collaborator, employer, colleague, etc.). Please provide your referee’s email address as well.
- A statement from your referee.
