Opportunity Description
Applications are now open for the Swedish Institute’s She Entrepreneurs training program in Stockholm for Businesswomen. She Entrepreneurs is a leadership program for potential women entrepreneurs in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye. Female entrepreneurs building sustainable and scalable businesses that contribute to driving social or environmental change are eligible to apply for this program.
The program ends over six months and consists of online individual mentor support, regular workshops, and one-week onsite learning in Stockholm in September. Moreover, the program provides insights and connections for participants and tangible tools who want to grow their businesses and improve as entrepreneurs and leaders.

Benefits of the She Entrepreneurs
Swedish Institute (SI) will compensate the following allowances for one intensive week of onsite learning in Stockholm:
- Participant’s flights to and from Stockholm;
- Accommodation and meals during the onsite sessions;
- Health insurance during the during one week program;
- All training material online and onsite
Eligibility Criteria of the She Entrepreneurs
All applicants should meet the following requirements to apply for the She Entrepreneurs Program:
- Be a woman entrepreneur aged between 25 and 45 (born 1977 – 1998);
- The applicant’s business should be already operational and ready to expand;
- Has the potential to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and develop a financially sustainable business model by driving social or environmental change;
- Based in Algeria, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, or Türkiy;
- Participants should be proficient in written and spoken English.
She Entrepreneurs’ Timeline
These six-month She Entrepreneurs program timeline details are as follows:
Online Training (April – August 2023)
- This efficient training helps participants apply learning and insights directly to their business.
- Participants can learn from regular online workshops that experienced entrepreneurs and trainers organize.
- The training will start with a kick-off of small introductory group meetings and two half-day sessions.
- The seminars typically occur every second week for 1.5 – 2 hours on Friday mornings, plus 1 hour of individual preparations.
- Beneficiaries will also have practical assignments to support the implementation of new tools, methods, and models into their businesses.
Online Mentorship (April – August 2023)
At the start of the program, participants will peer with an individual mentor to support them throughout the program. The participants and personal mentors will set up direct meetings during the program.
Onsite Learning Week in Stockholm (September 2023)
Stockholm’s one-week onsite learning program will take place from 11 – 17 September. This program will be an intensive learning week combining workshops, mentor support, field visits, and networking.
Application Procedure
The She Entrepreneurs program application procedure’s general steps are as follows:
- Apply: To apply for She Entrepreneurs, please enter the application portal and select your desired program. Please remember that only a complete application package is acceptable for the program.
- Application Evaluation: Two members of the selection committee comprising senior entrepreneurs and field experts will evaluate each application against the business potential, contribution to the SDGs, and the potential of the applicant as an entrepreneur.
- Interviews: The committee will shortlist around 60 candidates and send an invitation for online interviews as a second step in the selection process.
- Admissions: Out of shortlisted applicants, the SI will offer 30 applicants a place in the program by email. SI also composes a list of reserve candidates for the second step.
