Eligibility
- Be Female applicant from Afghanistan.
- Must be entering the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science as an undergraduate student.
- Demonstrates strong academic performance and potential for success in engineering or computer science fields.
- Recipient is selected by the Senate Committee on Awards based on the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science’s recommendation.
English requirements:
To attend UVic, all applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. This can be done through academic studies, standardized tests (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), or programs offered by UVic’s English Language Centre (ELC). Applicants who have studied full-time in English for at least four years in Canada or a recognized English-speaking country are typically exempt from additional proof. Alternatively, candidates can meet the requirement by submitting test scores:
- CAEL: Minimum score of 70 (no section less than 60)
- Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: Minimum score of 180 (no skill less than 170)
- IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5 (no component less than 6.0)
- MET (4-skill test): Minimum score of 64
- PTE: Minimum score of 65 (no skill less than 60)
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 90 (no section less than 20)
Alternatively, successful completion of UVic’s University Admission Preparation (UAP) program with a score of 80% or higher can also fulfill the requirement. Conditional admission is available for specific programs, allowing applicants to meet the language requirement after admission.
How to Apply
- Choose a Program: Review available undergraduate programs at UVic and ensure you meet the program’s admission requirements, including any additional documents (e.g., essay, resume, portfolio). Verify English language proficiency as per UVic‘s requirements.
- Submit Application: Apply via EducationPlannerBC by the program’s deadline.
- Pay the Application fee: $86 for transcripts from Canadian institutions, $168 for international transcripts.
- Create NetLink ID: After submission, receive a confirmation email with your UVic student number and create a NetLink ID to access the UVic application portal.
- View Application Checklist: Follow the instructions in your introductory email to track application status and complete necessary steps.
- Submit Grades: Submit your current or most recent academic grades to UVic as required.
- Submit English Proficiency Scores: If applicable, arrange for your test score to be sent directly to UVic.
