Opportunity Description
The Reporters Without Borders Germany Berlin Scholarship Program 2023 is now accepting applications. This scholarship program gives journalists from war torn countries and crisis areas the opportunity to spend four months in Berlin and complete a digital security training program. The Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises fully funds a total of ten journalists via this program.
Its goal is to educate participants with practical information and techniques for protecting themselves against digital risks such as surveillance and hacking attacks in their journalistic work. In a second phase, the participants, with the assistance of the trainer team, develop their own training idea, through which they will be able to pass on their newly gained knowledge to colleagues in their home countries as trainers. As a result, journalists who are not part of the scholarship program can benefit from the digital security skills taught in the curriculum.
