The Pernod Ricard Scholarship aims to empower young leaders committed to fostering positive social spaces and addressing harmful drinking. Through collaboration with One Young World, this scholarship allows interdisciplinary teams to attend the One Young World Summit.

Social gatherings are vital for fostering connections, yet they come with risks, such as isolation and excessive drinking. Pernod Ricard aims to create inclusive and safer spaces for these occasions, regardless of alcohol involvement.

The organizers offer the One Young World-Pernod Ricard Scholarship to 10 young leaders dedicated to fostering positive social environments and combating harmful drinking. Scholars will attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal with full funding, contributing to collective projects to shape Pernod Ricard’s responsible drinking and socializing strategies.

Eligibility Criteria

Ideal candidates will be dedicated to promoting positive social interactions and addressing harmful drinking. They may be actively involved in:

Their projects
Emerging leadership roles within larger organizations
Contributing to research initiatives Relevant activities may include:
Prevention and education efforts to reduce excessive alcohol consumption
Initiatives aimed at minimizing social harm
Projects addressing the negative effects of excessive drinking
Improving safety in social environments
Promoting community cohesion and social inclusion
Research on Gen Z habits and socializing trends, including alcohol’s role.

Additionally, applicants must:

Be of legal drinking age in their country

Selection Process

Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated impact and commitment to the scholarship’s objectives.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the collective project actively.

Collective Project Overview

Following is the collective project overview:

Scholars will collaborate on a project to provide concrete recommendations to Pernod Ricard.
The project’s theme will be chosen collectively from suggested topics, including:
- Enhancing social connections within communities
- Examining the role of celebrations and alcohol in society
- Implementing prevention measures in social gatherings
- Understanding Gen Z’s influence on drinking culture.
Successful candidates will demonstrate their commitment to the project.
Time commitment includes preparatory meetings, a physical meeting at the Summit, and quarterly meetings post-summit.
Individual introductions and additional mentoring sessions will be available.
Reflection and independent work may be necessary to develop the project further.
