McGill University in Canada provides 130 scholarships for both national and international students to pursue their studies in Montreal, the #1 city for students in Canada. One of the available scholarships is the McCall MacBain scholarship, which fully funds a master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program for international students, Canadian students, and U.S. citizens.
This includes up to 30 full scholarships and 100 finalists and regional Awards. Suppose you are starting a full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University in the Summer/Fall of 2026. In that case, you can apply for the McCall MacBain Scholarship in 2026.
All expenses will be covered, making it an excellent opportunity to kickstart your education in Canada with a full scholarship. What is the Second-Entry Professional Undergraduate Degree?
A second entrance degree is an academic degree that requires at least 1-2 years of university studies and, in some instances, 3 years for research-oriented programs. It is usually used to refer to Canadian and American shows. As a prerequisite for entrance, these programs require 3-4 years of degree-seeking work or a first professional degree or first-entry degree.

For Canadian Applicants (citizens, permanent residents, refugees):
- 20 McCall MacBain Scholarships (at McGill)
- 30 Finalist Awards – $10,000 (at McGill)
- 30 Regional Awards – $5,000 (any Canadian public university)
For International Applicants (all other nationalities):
- 10 McCall MacBain Scholarships (at McGill)
- 25 Finalist Awards – $20,000 (at McGill)
- 15 Regional Awards – $10,000 (any Canadian public university)
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must have the following:
- If you are a student and can complete your undergraduate degree by August 2026, you are eligible to apply.
- You graduated with your first bachelor’s degree within the last five years (no earlier than January 220).
- Be 30 years old or younger as of January 1, 2025, and have received your first bachelor’s degree more than five years prior.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission:
For admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Open to all qualified candidates aiming to join McGill’s 10,000+ graduate students.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (or equivalent recognized by McGill).
- Master’s programs generally require a 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant area.
- PhD programs typically require a Master’s degree, but direct entry from undergrad is possible for exceptional applicants with substantial research experience.

Minimum GPA:
- cGPA of 3.0/4.0, or
- GPA of 3.2/4.0 in the last two years of full-time study (higher in some programs).
- Degree equivalency: Your credentials will be assessed against McGill standards.
- Language requirement: English proficiency is required as follows:
- IBT (Internet-Based Test): 86 overall, no less than 20 in each of the four component scores. The McGill Institution Code is 0935
- IELTS Academic: Â 6.5 or greater
- Pearson Test: Overall 65 or better; individual component scores of 60 or better
- Some work may be done in French, except where English is essential to the course.
