Opportunity Description

International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) accepts applications for the Kim Wall Memorial Fund for Journalists. Kim’s family established the Kim Wall Memorial Fund to provide grants to female journalists whose work embodies Kim’s reporting spirit. The grant will support non-binary or female journalists covering subculture in general and what Kim called “the undercurrents of revolt.”

Kim Wall was an independent journalist who wrote about identity, gender, social justice, pop culture, and foreign policy for a long time. When Kim was murdered, her parents, brother Tom Wall, partner Ole Stobbe, and friends May Jeong, Mansi Choksi, Dhiya Kuriakose, and Adam Perez founded the Kim Wall Memorial Fund.

Kim’s family hopefully established this Fund so that many more women would be out in the world and brush up against life, as Kim had wished. The Foundation hopes to use this funding to bend the world toward Kim’s vision.
