Fundación MAPFRE proudly announces the launch of the 3rd edition of the KBr Photo Award, an international biennial prize that celebrates and supports contemporary photographic creation. This initiative reaffirms the Foundation’s commitment to visual arts by promoting the career of one outstanding photographer through national and international exposure.

The 2025 award includes a €25,000 cash prize, two solo exhibitions—one at the KBr Barcelona Photo Center and another in Madrid—and the publication of a professional catalog featuring the winning project. The award is dedicated to unpublished projects that reflect strong artistic value within the tradition of documentary photography.

Open to both Spanish and international photographers over the age of 18, eligible candidates must have a proven professional track record, including at least one solo exhibition or published work.

Eligibility Criteria

Entrants must meet the following requirements:

• Open to photographers over 18, regardless of nationality
• Applicants must have an established professional career, with at least one solo exhibition or one published work
• Projects must be unpublished and not submitted to other awards
• Applicants can submit either a new project or a work-in-progress

  • Stage 2: Final selection by a prestigious international jury
