Citizens of specified developing nations with appropriate professional expertise and a history of supporting their governments’ development efforts are eligible for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP). Scholarships are available at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for people interested in applying to Public Health.

Benefits of Scholarship

  • Your graduate program’s tuition and the price of your university-provided basic health insurance.
  • During the scholarship period, a monthly subsistence grant covers all living costs in school (accommodations, food, etc., including books). The allowance varies in size depending on the host nation.
  • At the beginning of your study program and shortly following the conclusion of the scholarship period, economy-class air travel from your home country to the host university is included. Scholars will also get two round-trip airline tickets and a $600 US travel reimbursement for each trip.

Eligibility for MPH

  • Prior to the start of the program, you must have at least two years of full-time, post-baccalaureate employment experience in a health-related field. Or hold a doctorate in a public health-related subject.
  • All types of professionals are welcome to apply.
  • This criterion is waived for those who graduated from a medical school in the United States or elsewhere.
  • Have a good record in school. (I finished one health-related scientific course and began general biology and math.)
  • A minimum GPA of 3.5, a verbal reasoning score of 79%, and a quantitative reasoning score of 67%. (GRE). The bearers of the following degrees—MS, MA, MD, DDS, PhD, MBBS, and BDS—do not require a standardized exam score.
  • Possess three letters of recommendation from professors or employers.
  • English language competency (PBT 6000/IELTS 7/TOEFL iBT 100).
  • No TOEFL or IELTS score is required if you have a US degree or an MBBS from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, or other countries.
  • You must have The World Education Services, Inc. analyze your paperwork (WES)

Eligibility for World Bank Scholarship

Application requirements for the Joint Japan/World Bank Scholarship (JJ/WBGSP) include the following:

  • Be a citizen of developing countries on this list that is a member of the World Bank.
  • Not possess dual citizenship in any advanced nation.
  • Possess good health.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) acquired at least three years before the application deadline.
  • Have a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree and at least three years of recent job experience in development.
  • Be paid, full-time employment doing development-related work when you submit your scholarship application.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent university) that you earned no more than three years ago and obtained no more than six years before the application deadline.
  • Before submitting your application, you must attach the letter of admission.
  • The phrase “near related” is defined as Mother, Father, Sister, Half-Sister, Brother, Half-Brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew. You also cannot be an Executive Director, their alternate, or staff of any appointment of the World Bank Group.
