Opportunity Description

The Ashley Lashley Foundation was launched in December 2019, building on four years of activism by Ashley Lashley, a Barbadian UNICEF Youth Advocate with a broad focus on social development issues, particularly regarding health, the environment, and women’s rights.
Applications are open for HEY Global Climate Fund 2022 for Young Climate Activists. Three chosen young climate activists will get assistance from the Ashley Lashley Foundation’s Hey Global Climate Fund to carry out their ideas.

Applicants who are passionate about any of the following topics are invited to apply:

  • Climate Change and Health: This might include initiatives or programs that highlight the relationship between climatic change and its consequences on diseases like waterborne illnesses, raise awareness of mental health issues, or improve food and nutrition, among other things.
  • Climate Change and Gender: The initiatives or concepts that have connected gender and climate change would then emphasize solutions addressing vulnerable groups’ vulnerabilities due to the climate catastrophe. These initiatives or ideas aimed to increase understanding and solutions that put gender at the forefront.
  • Climate Advocacy: The applicant(s) initiatives or ideas for climate advocacy must be able to show how they have used or will use their voices and united voices within their communities. These initiatives or programs must be centered on impacts and results, supporting the unification of the global, regional, and national push for climate action.
  • Climate Entrepreneurship: Projects or ideas with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of climate change, such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability, environmental engineering, climate adaptation, resilient and clean technologies, carbon reduction, food production, design, or other cutting-edge fields addressing climate challenges today and in the future.

Benefits of The Program

  • Each of the chosen initiatives will be awarded USD 5,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age requirements range from thirteen (13) to twenty-seven years old.
  • The areas of Climate Change and Health, Climate Change and Gender, Climate Advocacy, and Climate Entrepreneurship must be included in the proposal that applicants submit.
  • The following territories, which are available to all nations, are included in this fund:
