Applications are open for the 2025 Goldsmiths International Response Scholarship to international applicants. This scholarship helps people who are currently applying for asylum in the UK or who are refugees. The purpose of this fellowship is to support Goldsmiths undergraduate and graduate students in pursuing their academic goals.
All nationalities are eligible to apply, although Ukrainian applicants seeking asylum in the UK via the Home Office’s special arrangement will be given priority.

Benefits:
The following advantages will be available to all chosen applicants:
- Those who are accepted will be paid £8,825 in allowances.
- It is necessary to receive a complete tuition fee waiver for each academic year.
- Up to £200 a week is covered by the accommodation cost for a single study bedroom in the residence halls at Goldsmiths.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, you must meet the general eligibility criteria and:
- Have refugee status or an active asylum application in the UK (documentation required).
- Hold an offer for an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths.
- Be eligible to study in the UK (Immigration Bail must not prohibit study).
- Ukrainian applicants under the UK Home Office’s special arrangement will also be considered.
The following general requirements must also be met by applicants for this scholarship:
- Applicants must have a firmly accepted offer to study at Goldsmiths (via UCAS or MyGoldsmiths). Online degree programs via the University of London are not eligible.
- Financial award applications must be submitted by the stated deadline. Late applications may not be considered.
- Awards are allocated competitively, with decisions based on academic records and application responses.
- If no suitable candidates are identified, Goldsmiths reserves the right not to allocate all awards.
- Successful applicants must accept the award within the given deadline (usually 10 days), or it may be reallocated.
- Current students are ineligible unless they are applying for a new program.
- Applicants cannot receive multiple awards unless stated otherwise.
- Part-time students receive awards on a pro-rata basis.
- Regulations are reviewed annually; changes apply to new recipients unless stated otherwise.
Selection Criteria:
The procedure for selection is as follows:
- Competitive selection is based on eligibility and application quality.
- The Scholarships Coordinator conducts initial shortlisting, ensuring applicants meet eligibility criteria.
- Eligible applications proceed to review by an awarding panel.
- The panel evaluates academic records and application responses, prioritizing content over writing style.
- The panel includes representatives from Admissions, Widening Participation, and the Immigration Advisory Service.
- The panel determines the final recipients and reserve candidates.
