Opportunity Description

Global Center on Adaptation is an international organization working as a solutions broker to accelerate action and support for adaptation solutions, from the international to the local, in partnership with the public and private sector, to ensure they learn from each other and work together for a resilient climate future. In Rotterdam, young people from around the world are coming to help design the Global Goal on Adaptation. The inaugural Global Youth Adaptation Summit, organized by the Global Center on Adaptation and its Youth Advisory Panel, will bring together young leaders, decision-makers, and experts for the most significant youth conference on adaptation ahead of COP27. Participants listen to keynote presentations from climate experts and collaborate in working groups to produce a written outcome of the inaugural Global Youth Adaptation Summit, which will be submitted to the Friends of GCA High-Level Dialogue and the Pre-COP27. In addition, the Summit provides a forum for young people worldwide to share their experiences in adopting adaptation solutions. Young leaders and high-level dignitaries in international diplomacy will eat a meal at the end of the Summit.

Objective

  • Showcase youth-led climate-resilient ideas, including the Youth Adapt winners, to help accelerate adaptation action.
