The Women in Ag Award 2025 celebrates the powerful role women play in shaping the future of agriculture worldwide. From sustainable farming to cutting-edge research, this Award honors those driving progress across the agricultural sector.

Organized for the fourth time by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and Women in Ag magazine, the Award offers women a platform to share their stories, showcase their achievements, and connect with a global network of professionals. In past years, participants from over 40 countries have been recognized for their innovation and leadership.

Winners will be selected in four categories—Farming, Agribusiness, Education, and Technology & Research—and announced during AGRITECHNICA 2025 in Hanover.

Eligibility Criteria

The participation requirements are as follows:

  • Must identify as a woman
  • Must work in one of the following: farming, agribusiness, agricultural education, research, media, or advocacy
  • Can apply from anywhere in the world
  • Must apply in only one of the four categories: Farming, Agribusiness, Education, or Technology & Research
  • Application and video must be in English (or subtitled in English)

Required Documents

Participants must submit the following materials:

  • Completed online application form
  • One portrait photo
  • At least two high-resolution images of your agricultural work
  • A short (max 2-minute) video about yourself and your contribution
  • All materials must be in English/subtitled

Selection Process and Criteria

  • Step 1: The Jury evaluates video profiles
  • Step 2: The top 8 nominees per category are shortlisted
  • Step 3: Jury selects 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category
  • Final Result: Winners announced during AGRITECHNICA on 12 November 2025

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Innovation and originality of work
  • Impact on local/global farming communities
  • Contribution to sustainable and modern agriculture
  • Quality and clarity of overall presentation
  • Regional and contextual relevance considered
