Opportunity Description

Students from all over the world who wish to work in a responsible capacity in journalism or the communications industry are the program’s target audience. It specifically targets aspiring journalists, media professionals from print, web, and television, and communication specialists.

In order to be considered, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and, following graduation, have at least a year’s worth of professional experience in a media-related field.

Eligibilities:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree;
  • Demonstrate a year of work experience in a field related to media;
  • Provide results for language proficiency in German and English.
  • For English, the following scores are required:
    • TOEFL iBT 83
    • IELTS score of 6.5
  • In addition, candidates must demonstrate the following in order to be considered proficient in German:
    • In every four-part Goethe Zertifikat level B2, or DSH level, test DaF at least at level TDN 3.

Documents Requirement:

  • A copy of a current passport
  • Motivational letter (signed, dated, maximum 700 words, English, “Arial” font, size 10, spacing 1,5)
  • CV (signed, dated, in Euro-pass format)
  • Transcripts and certificates for a bachelor’s degree
  • Evidence of a minimum of two years of post-graduation professional experience in a media-related field
  • A Certificate of Accredited Practitioner Status (APS) is granted to candidates who obtained their undergraduate education in China, Vietnam, or India.
  • English proficiency certificates at least at the CEFR C1 Level
  • Please review the DAAD Documents Checklist for 2024–2025 and submit any additional documentation if you are applying for a DAAD scholarship.
