Established in memory of the Maltese anti-corruption journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was tragically assassinated in 2017, the Prize was launched in October 2020 by the European Parliament. Each year, it commemorates her legacy by recognizing professional journalists or teams who produce impactful, in-depth journalism.
