Opportunity Description

The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity 2026 is now accepting applications. This one-year global fellowship at the George Washington University Health Workforce Institute in Washington, DC, is open to applicants worldwide.

The program will develop and support a network of global, multidisciplinary leaders with the technical knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to advance health equity in their organizations and communities. Fellows will be chosen based on their demonstrated commitment to health equity and leadership potential.

Fellowship Costs Coverage

These are the details of the Fellowship benefits:

  • The fellows are expected to remain employed during the fellowship.
  • All educational experiences and travel expenses are covered.
  • In-person convenings paid for by Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity.
  • Fellows do not receive a stipend.
  • However, they can apply leadership lessons in real-life scenarios.

Who Can Apply?

Individuals who meet the following criteria can apply for the Atlantic Fellows Program for Health Equity:

  • Fellows must be in early to mid-career
  • Aspiring global leaders in health disparity elimination
  • Early to mid-career professionals
  • Active in health-related work
  • In or aspiring to leadership roles
  • Open to diverse perspectives
  • Team-oriented and collaborative

Program Expectations

  • Attend in-person convenings (4-week commitment)
  • Engage in biweekly online classes, coaching, peer mentoring, and team-based learning (12-16 hours/month)
  • Proficiency in English required
  • All travel and educational expenses covered by the program

Application Requirements

Please prepare these documents in advance:

  • A brief statement (500 words max) explaining motivations to become a fellow, emphasizing personal strengths and leadership qualities.
  • Health equity project proposal for the fellowship year.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Employer support is from a direct supervisor who is willing to advise change leadership in pursuing health equity.
