Are you a young leader advocating for health equity in your community? Are you leading projects within a registered non-profit? AstraZeneca invites passionate changemakers to join the 2025 YHP Impact Fellowship, offering funding, leadership development, and a fully funded One Young World Summit scholarship in Munich, Germany.
AstraZeneca’s YHP empowers young people to make informed health choices and drive advocacy. Operating in over 40 countries, it focuses on preventing cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses in underserved communities. Since 2016, AstraZeneca has partnered with One Young World to support youth-led health initiatives, aligning with UN SDG Target 3.4—reducing premature NCD-related deaths by one-third by 2030.

Benefits and Financial Aids
The selected fellows will benefit from the YHP Impact Fellowship as follows:
- Full delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich (3-6 November)
- Round-trip economy flights from home country to Munich (arranged by OYW)
- Private hotel accommodation in Munich (2-7 November, arranged by OYW)
- Catering: Dinner on 2 November, all meals from 3-6 Nov, and breakfast on 7 November.
- Expense reimbursement: Up to £250 for travel costs.
- Visa fee reimbursement: Approx. £75 for a German visitor visa.
- Return airport transfers via public transport in Munich.
- Access to AstraZeneca’s YHP Impact Fellowship with year-round learning & development.
- Network opportunities: OYW Summit, Ambassador Network, YHP Alumni, and YHP Advisory Board.
- Professional development: Structured training, One Young World Academy (MBA-Essentials), mentorship
- Funding support: $10,000 grant (or $50,000 if selected as a Lead2030 Challenge winner) for health projects
- Automatic consideration for AstraZeneca’s Lead2030 Challenge for SDG3.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply for this fellowship?
- Aged 18-30 years (applications from older individuals will be considered based on impact and initiative).
- Language: Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Nationality: Open to applicants from all countries.
- Availability: Must attend One Young World Summit (Nov 2-7, 2025, Munich, Germany) in person.
- Commitment: Willing to share insights, co-create action plans, foster partnerships, and advocate for AstraZeneca’s health equity work.
- Technology: Must have internet access and a device for online sessions (not provided).
Non-Profit Eligibility Criteria
- Leadership: Applicants must be founders or leaders of a registered non-profit.
- Operational Period: The organization must have been registered and active for at least 3 years.
- Funding Readiness: Must provide financial and governance documentation for verification (takes 3-6 months).
- Income Requirements:
- $10,000 Grant: The organization’s annual income is between $10,000 – $1,000,000.
- $50,000 Grant: The organization’s annual income is between $100,000 – $2,000,000.
- Project Location: Must operate in underserved communities.
Project Eligibility
- Duration: 6-12 months, starting after Oct 2025 and ending by Dec 2026.
- Focus Areas:
- NCD Prevention: Promoting policies for healthy lifestyles & equitable healthcare access.
- Policy Change: Advocating for youth-focused policies on rare diseases & NCD risk factors (tobacco, alcohol, inactivity, unhealthy diets, air pollution).
- Youth-Led Advocacy: Must be led by and for young people with a clear advocacy strategy.
- Inclusivity: Non-discriminatory and working with marginalized/vulnerable youth.
- Measurable Impact: Requires detailed impact reports on outreach, policy influence, and lessons learned.
Ineligible Projects
- Discriminatory or political/religious promotion.
- Medical courses, scholarships, or direct medical treatments
- Grants or donations to individuals/other organizations
- Projects benefiting AstraZeneca’s commercial interests
- Projects exceeding 12 months or starting before Nov 2025.
- Projects funded over 50% by another source (excluding AstraZeneca)
Other Conditions
- Fellows must fully participate in the YHP Impact Fellowship and OYW Summit.
- Incomplete verification or misrepresentation may lead to scholarship withdrawal.
- If an organization fails verification, the grant and fellowship participation will be revoked.
