Swedish Universities Welcome Afghan Researchers for Collaborative Opportunities
Swedish universities, in partnership with Scholars at Risk (SAR), have opened their doors to some Afghan researchers, enabling them to continue their important work across various scientific fields. This initiative enhances research in Sweden and provides a safe environment for these valuable scholars to thrive.
Sara Blakefelt, the program manager for SAR’s Afghan researchers in Sweden, believes this collaboration enriches Sweden’s research landscape while offering essential protection to at-risk scholars.
Despite the imminent end of financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Swedish universities remain committed to welcoming Afghan researchers. They are determined to continue this crucial work with their limited resources, ensuring that these scholars can continue making important contributions to the global academic community.
