Afghan Citizens’ resettlement scheme guideline

The United Kingdome Home Office has announced that it will launch Afghan Citizens’ resettlement scheme to provide protection for vulnerable people fleeing Afghanistan. Afghan nationals resettlement program will help 5000 vulnerable Afghans who have been forced to flee the country to be evacuated to the UK in the first year and 20000 for long term.

This scheme is not yet open. further details will be announced in due course. please DO NOT email or call when the program starts.

Non-British Nationals

ARAP

The Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) is for Afghans who have supported British efforts in Afghanistan such Interpreters and other personal. Read ARAP Details here

Other priorities

As part of the evacuation effort, United Kingdom continues to work expeditiously to assist other facing serious risk in Afghanistan that includes the following:

  • Current or former Chevening Scholars
  • People with existing leave or an open application for student, work and family visas.
  • Journalists
  • Civil society groups for women’s rights
  • Government officials
  • Officials working in counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics.
  • Employees of charities, humanitarian organizations and NGOs.

Note: this helpline is not providing advice on eligibility for the Full Afghan Citizens resettlement scheme and not for registering interest for the scheme.

Prepare to provide as many details as possible including:

  • Your full name as printed on your travel document/identity card or passport
  • Date of Birth

You should also provide these details for dependents or immediate family members you may have such as your spouse and children.

If you are calling on the UK government on behalf of any individual or individuals in Afghanistan please ensure you have the same details available as requested above to provide.

British nationals

British nationals or family members of a British national in Afghanistan can call: +441908516666 and select the Option’ Consular services for British Nationals”. It is extremely important that this phone number is used for people to register their need for help, not to ask for updates, which we cannot currently provide.
